Trust and compliance architecture

Institutional Trust and Compliance Architecture (ITCA)

The Institutional Trust and Compliance Architecture (ITCA) is designed to support participant qualification, verification, institutional trust assessment and ongoing review within the Zamani Africa model.

Intended role

Structured checks, accountable decisions and review over time.

The framework is intended to verify participant identity, business registration status and beneficial ownership against authoritative sources, alongside sanctions and other relevant screening. It envisages a trust score and institutional profile, with quarterly recalculation, disclosure of score changes and review following governance violations.

These are design intentions, not confirmation that a participant has been screened, that an ITCA score exists for any organisation, or that the framework has received certification from an external authority.

Governance and accountability

Verification is not commercial certification.

Source-based verification

Checks are intended to use authoritative sources appropriate to the participant and risk context. Source availability and verification limits must be documented.

Ongoing reassessment

Periodic score recalculation and review of relevant changes or governance violations are intended to support continued oversight.

Reasoned outcomes

Score changes should be disclosed to affected institutions with a written rationale. A complete scoring and governance specification remains necessary before operational use.

Privacy and compliance dependencies

Personal and corporate data processing is a material responsibility. Data protection measures, including designation of a data protection officer and an impact assessment, should be addressed before participant onboarding. Applicable legal obligations and implementation status must be confirmed before launch.
